The term “stacking” comes up often around the topic of nootropics. If you have any experience or familiarity with supplements of any kind, you likely already know what it means. You’ll certainly know it does not involve taking bottles of capsules or powder and stacking them on top of each other to build a great big pyramid (as fun as that can be).
My goal for this article is to give a solid introduction to stacking. Ncot only will I explain what it is, but also why it can be such a powerful tool when experimenting with nootropics. It’s what will take your cognitive enhancement to the next level.
What Is Nootropics Stacking?
At its most basic, stacking is combining two or more supplements with the goal of gaining better benefits. Many nootropics can work together synergistically. Taking several at the same time can yield results many times greater than any individual substance could give on its own.
The effectiveness of this method has been proven time and time again. This reason is why most nootropics users turn to it sooner or later. After you’re comfortable with a few substances, combining them is the next logical step. And because all our brain chemistries are just a bit different, each person needs to perfect their formula to maximize the benefits.
How to Start Stacking Nootropics
You can explore nootropic supplement stacking in a couple of different ways. Both have their advantages and downsides.
The first method is to buy pre-formulated brain enhancement pills which already combine two or more different nootropics inside. This approach takes the guesswork (and legwork) out of doing it yourself. It also has the advantage of not having to create the stack yourself, especially relevant if you’re not quite sure what you’re doing. I talk about this at length in my review of Alpha Brain here. As long as you buy from a trusted manufacturer, you should be good to go.
There is a notable disadvantage of buying pre-formulated stacks. You’re getting a one size fits all product (for the lack of a better term), developed for the most common denominator. Because our brains are all different, it may not work for everyone. And when it does, it will almost never be as powerful as your own finely tuned stack.
And that’s the most significant advantage of the second method, which is taking the time to create a personalized nootropic stack. You’re free to tweak both the substances and their amounts as you please. This freedom ensures you will end up with something that best caters to your brain and nobody else’s. While there are several stack-in-a-box products I talk about on Best Nootropics Now, ultimately, this is the method I prefer.
The other advantage of going the do it yourself way is you can get exactly the effects you seek, nothing more, nothing less. Every nootropic supplement has distinct effects. So if you want something which increases your focus and has neuroprotective properties, but does not affect your alertness, you can create exactly that. Just stack some Noopept with a bit of piracetam and Alpha GPC. You only pick the drugs which are catered for those effects and put them together. Just remember always to keep things safe.
By taking more than a single nootropic at a time, you can experience significantly better results. Experiment a little to find your perfect stack, and you’ll be amazed at what is achievable.
