Whenever someone asks me which nootropic to take, modafinil is one that is almost always on the top of my list. It’s a powerful smart drug that helps me maintain and get the most out of both body and mind. Modafinil has come to my rescue so many times that I have no qualms about suggesting it to others assuming, of course, they understand how to use it properly.
When to Take Modafinil
Whenever I feel a little (or very) sluggish and need to focus, I can always count on modafinil. I know that I will kickstart my mind and put it on the right track.
The main benefit modafinil provides is in treating sleep disorders like narcolepsy or obstructive sleep apnea. But even for those of us not suffering from a diagnosed sleep disorder, it can help and deliver in spades when more alertness and attentiveness is needed. Promoting wakefulness is what modafinil is good at.
Whenever I can’t seem to keep my eyes open, and I realize that I need to be more awake to do what I need to get done, modafinil is a great “pick me up” and gets me right back on track.
In my profession, working long hours towards the end of a project is very common. Doing that for a day or two is fine, but when extended hours go on for weeks or months, modafinil is there for me and helps me do my job and do it well.
There are many other reasons for modafinil use. For one, it is often prescribed as a treatment for Attention Deficit Hyper Disorder (ADHD). It helps those who suffer from it block out distractions and become more focused.
Modafinil is even useful for those who don’t do very well in social situations. It helps clear the mind and makes the user much more at ease. If any of the circumstances above sound like something you have to deal with, it may be worthwhile to go online to find modafinil and start experimenting with it to see if it’s right for you. And by the way, buying it on the Internet will always be cheaper.
How to Take Modafinil
The most common dosage of modafinil is 200 milligrams per day, taken once in the morning with food. That is the amount I use, and it works perfectly fine. You can take less, and as little as 100 milligrams may be all that is needed.
Several studies were done where users have taken up to 400 milligrams of modafinil per day, but this increased dosage yielded no further benefits. In other words, while you may need less, there’s little point in taking more than recommended.
What to Watch out For
Though rare, modafinil may have some adverse effects. These will vary from person to person and are comparable with adrafinil. The most common issues reported during clinical trials were headaches and nausea. Others have told of feelings of nervousness or anxiety. Physically, there is some record of back pain, diarrhea, dizziness and even chest pain or hypertension. As I said though, all these things are quite rare. But do be aware of them just in case.
As always, when taking any new nootropic or drug I talk about on my site, I highly recommend you visit and consult your physician first. If you are using any other medications, be sure to mention them to prevent any unintended interactions. Modafinil is an excellent smart drug that has helped me tons and can do the same for you. Just know when and how to use it, and do so safely.
